June 29th, 2 p.m. – Ever wonder what it was like to learn in a one-room schoolhouse? Did you attend a one-room school as a child and want to relive the experience? This summer the McHenry County Historical Society will offer the public a unique opportunity to learn the old-fashioned way.

Chris Frenz was among those who volunteered to teach students at the 2014 Ag Day, April 15-17, at the McHenry County Fairgrounds in Woodstock.

The theme of this year's McHenry County Historical Society booth described lunches at one-room schoolhouses. Most students had never heard of a "lard" sandwich or handled a Karo syrup can (turned lunch pail) before.
