Crystal Lake City Council approves church plan...
This year's themes include Log Cabin patterns, snowmen (50th anniversary of Frosty the Snowman) Heirloom (pre-1965) and Just For Show (log cabin or snowmen, no judging).
Ribbons were warded in each of the four categories for first and second place, as well as a “people’s choice” and “judge’s choice” selected from among all the entries. The exhibit remains open through Jan. 3, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
The open house features free admission to the museum that day, as well as music, a bake sale and an appearance by Frosty. Veteran Christmas memorabilia collectors Dave Harms and Lynne Eltrevoog are once again collaborating to deck the halls of the museum and stage in holiday memorabilia for your viewing enjoyment.
Regular admission, $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students, applies during the weekend and during special hours from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21.
