Marsh Bequest benefits Society

You are here

Special thanks to McHenry County Historical Society supporter and volunteer Doris Marsh – and her family – for their generosity and confidence in MCHS. The $10,000 bequest from Marsh’s estate is deeply appreciated and will be put to good use.

Doris passed away Feb. 4, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Loves Park. But for more than 65 years, she managed the family’s Sesquicentennial Farm on Church Road in Huntley – the last 34 years following the death of her husband, Jim. She was a member of the McHenry Historical Society and the Huntley Historical Society, serving on their board for several years.

Doris is survived by her five children: Connie Marsh of Loves Park, Lee (Pat) Marsh of Huntley, James (Julie) Marsh of downstate Earlsville, Ron Marsh of Naperville, and Cheryl (Jeff) Halat of Genoa.
