“Get Your Hero On” The McHenry County Human Race is a unique 5K CARA Certified walk/run will support more than 75 charities – including the McHenry County Historical Society & Museum. Thanks to all those who are rallying to our cause! For details click HERE.

The monies raised from this race  for the McHenry County Historical Society fund the Nancy Fike Scholarship. This scholarship, established in 2012, is for a high school senior who has an interest in history and education. It is a $1,000 scholarship and awarded at the McHenry County Historical Society’s annual meeting. TO JOIN TEAM GREEN LANTERNS FOR LOCAL HISTORY click HERE.

We have supporters such as you to thank for remaining a vibrant, vital organization for nearly 58 years. People understand that we are not a bunch of blue-haired ladies sitting in some dusty room. We advocate for historical structures. We educate your children. We publish articles. We run a research library. We own and operate a historical museum, log cabin, an 1895 church and two, one-room schoolhouses. Key is a dedicated board and staff, some 300 volunteers, nearly 600 members and YOU.
