Perkins' Players

June 20 – Wednesday

• 7 p.m. – Perkins Hall Players presents “Should We Give a Dam or Not?” Join in the debate surrounding the construction of a dam on the Fox River at the turn of the century. The often heated exchange pitted recreational boaters and the tourism-related businessmen against farmers and riverfront property owners. Come and join in the civil melodrama, located on the southwest corner of Garden Valley and Franklinville roads near Woodstock. Period clothing encouraged. Light refreshments. Free.

The McHenry County Historical Society marks its 55th museum year with an opening soiree from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 4, at the museum, 6422 Main St., Union.

Old Fashioned, “base ball” match at Village Hall Park off Barreville and Ames roads in Prairie Grove. Civil War-era game pits the McHenry County “Independants” against the Grayslake Athletics.
