Historic Halloween

Historic Halloween. EA POE: Edgar Alan Poe’s Imagination. At Park Place, 406 W. Woodstock St. in Crystal Lake. Dan Haughey, in the guise of a music critic for a prominent metropolitan newspaper, reflects on and illuminates the life and work of Edgar Allan Poe. Some of Poe's greatest poems, short stories, and a satire or two, will be featured – including “The Tell-Tale Heart,” "The Bells,” “The Raven,” "Philosophy of Furniture,” and "Annabel Lee.” Audience members will enhance the spellbinding experience by becoming part of a sound-effects chorus! Admission: $8, members; $10, nonmembers.
