Heritage Fair Car Show

UNION – Following a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, Heritage Fair is back at the McHenry County Historical Society … and its popular car show is front and center.

State health rules, pertaining to social distancing and safe assembly, forced a postponement of the accompanying car show until last October. Still, the free show went off with nary a hitch. This year, it is back where it belongs: during summer in the city. This year's Heritage Fair runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 11, in downtown Union. A villagewide garage sale also is scheduled that day.

As in the past, the free show will feature sports, classic and antique cars. Top cars will receive trophies, including one for Best of Show. A one-of-a-kind, handmade People's Choice trophy and door prizes also will be presented.

DJ Jose Ramos will be spinning “oldies” as part of this year’s festival, which will include the Garden Glitz, food vendors and other activities you know – as well as some new additions. Face coverings will be observed inside the museum in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
