Since opening her Marengo resale shop in June, Estie Scott has made a point of connecting with her new community.

Named in memory of her "collector" Aunt Sandi from Chicago, the Kingston resident has a "little bit of everything" in her shop – located at 219 S. State St. in Marengo. And she intends to share her good fortune with various charitable organizations each month moving forward. Throughout October, for example, 10 percent of all sales at Aunt Sandi's Treasures will benefit the McHenry County Historical Society & Museum in Union.

"I know they've been hit hard by COVID," she said.

Aunt Sandi's is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. For information, 815-751-7437.
